Hate crime

A hate crime is an incident that is targeted towards someone because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or because they are transgender.

Not all hate incidents will amount to criminal offences but all should be reported to the Police. You must tell them if you are concerned about your safety.

Once you have reported it to the Police, please contact your Housing Officer with the incident report number or crime reference and the officer’s name so we can contact them and work with them and agree the next steps with you and the Police.

You can find help and support from the National Stop Hate UK website and 24-hour helpline 0800 138 1625.
