Soho Housing is a community-based housing association with a distinct identity. For half a century, we have played a key role in sustaining Soho and other prime central London locations as a living community for people at all income levels. Whilst we may be comparatively small, we are a high value organisation with a diverse portfolio. Our location, heritage, innovation and success means we punch well above our weight in terms of our local influence.

It all started nearly five decades ago when a group of residents in Soho set out on a mission to improve housing conditions and make sure Soho’s existing homes for local people were not destroyed by redevelopment. By providing homes in the area at rents local residents could afford, the existing community was retained and strengthened.

Our first properties were bought in 1973 and we now own and manage almost 800 properties and 39 commercial premises.

As our 50th anniversary approaches our core values remain the same and we believe that post pandemic, it is particularly important to continue to provide affordable and quality homes in the centre of London for local people.

We want to support the unique communities living in the heart of London by  providing affordable homes, commercial lettings, and excellent services for our residents.
