1. Why am I asked to provide access to my home for various checks?
We have an obligation to make sure that your property is a safe place for you to live.
To do this, there are various legal requirements placed on a landlord. These include:
- Carrying out an annual gas safety check if you have a gas boiler.
- Checking your electrics on a periodic basis – we work to the industry best practice of every five years.
- Carrying out a fire risk assessment in communal areas. These are carried out every three years and we require access to a sample of homes to complete these.
We will always try to minimise any disruption to you and any other residents when carrying out these checks and ask that you work collaboratively with our team to make these appointments go as smoothly as possible.
