2. I had items in the communal area and have received a TORT notice. What does this mean?
To allow for residents to evacuate safely in an emergency, escape routes must be kept clear at all times. You are not allowed to store items in cupboards in communal areas such as where meters are housed.
If you have been using communal cupboards or spaces to store personal items and have received a TORT notice this means that you need to remove your items within the time frame given on the notice.
